KezelTV on Android TV and Google TV, sorted for live nights

KezelTV is at its easiest on Android TV, Google TV and Android boxes, since the main players sit in the Play Store and install with no workaround. That frees your ten minutes for what counts on a live evening: shaping a line-up of 25,000+ channels so the ones you watch tonight are at the top. This guide signs you in, then builds a short favorites group and tucks away the country groups that no one at home ever opens.

7 steps to a live channel on the Android TV

Within reach before step one

  • An Android 7 or newer device: Android TV, Google TV or a box
  • Your KezelTV server URL, username and password from WhatsApp
  • The Google account the device already uses
  • A rough list of the channels your household watches live

  1. Identify the Android you have

A Google TV home screen is full of suggestions, classic Android TV shows rows of apps, and a budget box often runs a phone-style Android beneath a custom launcher. The first two get players from the Play Store in a minute. The third may need a file manager and an installer file, and it tends to crawl through a long list, which makes the favorites step below even more worthwhile.

  2. Install from the Play Store on the TV itself

Search the Play Store on the television rather than on your phone, because the phone and TV editions of an app are not always the same package. IPTV Smarters Pro is the easy first pick; TiviMate is the one to choose if you already know you will browse by the guide grid. Install it and keep it closed for the moment.

  3. Sign in with the Xtream Codes details

Open the player, select the Xtream Codes option and enter the username, password and server URL from your KezelTV chat. The server URL is where one missing character tends to hide, and the error it causes looks just like a wrong password, so read the end of it before pressing sign in.

  4. Wait while the line-up and guide load

Allow up to a minute for the first download, during which the screen can seem stuck. Leave it be. Once it completes, the groups show up and the program guide begins filling in; from then on the player keeps the list stored and refreshes it on request or on its own schedule.

  5. Hide the groups nobody opens

Walk through the group list once with the household in mind. Country groups in languages nobody speaks, adult groups where there are children, categories no one will browse: hide them. In TiviMate, hiding groups is one of the Premium features sold by its developer, while most Smarters builds let you hide categories from their settings. A shorter list makes every evening quicker.

  6. Build a favorites group for tonight

Open Live TV and add the twenty or so channels you turn to when something is on live: the entertainment networks, the music channels, a news channel for the big nights, and the sports channels if the house follows a team. On most players a long press on a channel, or its options menu, adds it to favorites. When a live show is about to begin, favorites get you there in two clicks instead of a long scroll.

  7. Check playback, guide and sound once

Open a favorite you know well, let it play for a minute and bring up the guide to confirm the program name matches the picture. Then think about the sound: in the device settings under Display and Sound, pick pass-through when a soundbar or receiver decodes the audio, or PCM when the television speakers do. A steady picture, a correct guide and ordinary sound mean you are finished.

Snags and fixes

Live night snags on the Android TV, and what clears them

These are the hitches support hears about most on this screen, each paired with the fix that usually ends it. When no screen in the house will play anything at all, the cause sits further up the line: go to the KezelTV not-working checklist instead.

The Play Store calls the player incompatible

That message usually points to Android older than version 7 or an uncertified box. Most such boxes still accept the player as a file from its developer; tell us the exact model on WhatsApp and we will send you to the right download.

Favorites vanished after an update

Favorites are kept in the player, not in your account, and an update or a cleared cache can wipe them. Rebuild the group, and if the settings offer a backup, run it once your groups look the way you want.

The box slows after hours switched on

Boxes short on memory struggle when several apps keep running in the background. Restart the box before a long live evening and close the other apps; reinstalling the player rarely makes a difference.

A whole group seems to be gone

See first whether it was hidden in the player, which is easy to do by accident while tidying. If it is not hidden and is still missing, send us the group name and we will check it from our side.

Picture and sound drift apart

The usual cause is pass-through failing to agree a format with the television or amplifier. Switch the output to PCM, replay the channel, and if the two stay in step, keep PCM.

The remote will not open channel options

Some launchers grab the long press that players rely on. Try the menu or options button instead; failing both, a cheap air-mouse remote makes setup and favorites far easier.

KezelTV on the Android TV, asked and answered

Does KezelTV run on a budget Android box?

Usually, so long as it is on Android 7 or newer and can take a player from the Play Store or from a file. The trouble with very cheap boxes is old software and scarce memory, which shows up as slow scrolling and stutter after hours switched on. Spending more on a Fire TV Stick 4K Max or an Nvidia Shield buys far fewer difficult evenings.

Which player suits Android TV best?

IPTV Smarters Pro for the first evening, because its Live TV, Movies and Series tiles are plain to read. TiviMate once you know which live channels you watch, since its guide grid is the nearest thing to a cable box on Android. Plenty of households keep both installed with the same login.

How many channels belong in a favorites group?

Enough for an ordinary week and no more, which for most homes means twenty to forty. Past that, split it in two, perhaps entertainment and news, so that on a live night you scan a handful of names instead of a full screen of them.

Can every Android device at home use one KezelTV login?

Yes. Put the player on as many devices as you like. What the plan limits is simultaneous playback, at one, two, three or five screens, so a watch party with the television and two tablets all running together calls for a three-screen plan.

Is Google TV any different from Android TV here?

Only on the surface. The home screen and its suggestions look different, but the Play Store, the players and every setting in this guide are identical underneath, so each step applies to both.

Does the guide fill in by itself?

With the Xtream Codes login, yes: the player fetches program data along with the line-up and refreshes it from time to time. If one channel shows nothing, refresh the guide in the player settings, and if it stays blank, tell us which channel.

Is a network cable worth it on a box?

If the box has a port, yes. Wi-Fi copes with HD most of the time, and the evening, when the whole street is online, is exactly when a cable proves its worth. For live viewing it is the cheapest improvement there is.
