Plan tonight with the KezelTV program guide

Which show is live at eight, when the final starts, which channel has the breaking story. How the listings load, how to set their clock, and how to cut the grid down to your evening channels.

Inside your player, the KezelTV guide (the EPG, for electronic program guide) runs alongside the live channels as a timetable: what is on at this minute, when it finishes and what comes after it. It is part of every plan, for each of the 25,000+ live channels whose broadcaster publishes listings. The on-demand films and series were never given a broadcast slot, so they live in the player’s Movies and Series areas, not in the grid.

For live entertainment, that schedule is the difference between watching with everyone and hearing about it the next day. A results show, a live concert special or an awards night only works at the hour it goes out, and the guide is where you find that hour before the evening fills up.

Three things to read in the grid before the evening starts

A minute with the guide around dinner time settles most of the night.

The current entry in each row, with its finish time, tells you whether to join live or wait for the program that follows.

Move along the row to the live show you care about and note its start: that is the minute to be in front of the screen.

Finals and award nights can overrun their slot, pushing back whatever follows. The grid shows the planned end, not the real one.

Narrow the KezelTV guide to tonight’s channels

Thousands of rows are too many to read with a TV remote. Gather the channels you watch live into a favorites list, then open the guide on that list alone. A starting point from the line-up:

  • Entertainment networks: Bravo, E!, Comedy Central, TLC, Lifetime, MTV and VH1.
  • UK evenings: BBC One, ITV1, ITV2, Channel 4 and Sky Max.
  • US broadcast networks: ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.
  • For nights when a story breaks: CNN, BBC News and Sky News.

Find each one once with the player’s search and add it. In TiviMate, favorites and hiding whole groups belong to Premium; IPTV Smarters Pro keeps its own favorites inside Live TV in most versions. The KezelTV channel list by country shows the group each one sits in. We list channels, not programs: what airs on them is the broadcaster’s decision. Reminders and scheduled recordings, where your player offers them, usually sit in the long-press or options menu of a listing.

How the KezelTV EPG gets into your player

It depends on which half of your login you used.

  1. Xtream Codes login: nothing to add

Enter the server URL, username and password. Once the channels are in, the schedule follows by itself; TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro both do this, as do most other players. Give that first download a few minutes.

  2. M3U link: one extra address

A playlist names channels and streams but carries no times, so many apps show an empty grid until you add a guide source: the xmltv.php address on the same server, with your username and password on the end.

  3. Then test one changeover

Wait for any channel to move from one program to the next and see whether the switch lands where the grid puts it.

[your server address]/xmltv.php?username=[username]&password=[password]

Nobody expects you to type that with a remote. Ask in your order chat and support replies with yours, ready to paste wherever your player asks for an EPG or XMLTV source. Signing in to KezelTV with Xtream Codes skips the step entirely, and the KezelTV M3U playlist walkthrough covers apps that accept only a link.

Set the clock before you trust an 8 p.m. start

Listings carry their times in universal time plus an offset, and your device turns them into local hours. When every row is early or late by the same amount, the device is wrong, not the data.

  1. Put the television, stick or box on automatic network time and pick the zone you are really in. A manually set clock ignores daylight saving and moves the whole evening by an hour twice a year.
  2. Force-close the player, start it again, and fetch the listings anew.
  3. Still a fixed gap? Only then use the player’s EPG offset or time shift, if your version has one.

A foreign channel should look shifted. A 9 p.m. start in Paris appears at 3 p.m. in Montreal for most of the year, because the guide converts it to your clock. With channels from 60+ countries, that is the point: a live night abroad lands in your afternoon, and you can plan around it.

Blank rows and stale listings

An empty row means the player has nothing paired with that channel. Where the gaps sit tells you why.

  • Every row blank: give the first download time to land; on an M3U login, check that the xmltv.php address was added.
  • A channel named after one event: feeds opened for a single match or show rarely publish a schedule; the name is the listing.
  • One regular channel blank among full ones: its schedule sits under a mismatched ID. That part is ours, so send the channel name in WhatsApp.

Refresh by hand only to repair something, since players reload on a timer of their own. Some channels publish a week ahead and others barely past midnight, so a thinner grid later in the week is normal. A blank row still plays; if the channels themselves refuse to open, the guide is not the issue, so go to help for when KezelTV is not working.

From tonight’s grid to tomorrow morning’s replay

The guide is also where catch-up begins. On archived channels, entries behind the current time open from the top in players that support it, but only when the listings are loaded and on the right hour, because a replay is requested by its start time. For spotting archived channels and starting a replay in each player, see KezelTV catch-up for the morning after.

The KezelTV guide and EPG: quick answers

How do I see what is live tonight in the KezelTV guide?

Open the guide view in your player and read across from the current time: each row shows the program on air, when it ends and what starts after it. To keep the screen short, open the guide on a favorites list of your evening channels, so the grid holds those rows and nothing else.

My KezelTV login is an M3U link: where is the EPG address?

Ask in the WhatsApp chat that delivered your login and support pastes it back, ready to use. It is the server address from your login followed by xmltv.php, with your username and password added as parameters. An Xtream Codes sign-in never needs it, because the listings come with the login.

Why does the KezelTV guide show the wrong start times?

The device clock is nearly always to blame, not the listings. A wrong time zone, or a clock someone set manually before the clocks last changed, shifts every row by the same amount. Turn on network time, choose your zone, restart the player and update the guide; save the player’s own offset for whatever gap is left after that.

Why are some rows empty in the KezelTV guide?

Your player has no schedule paired with those channels. If every row is empty, the listings are still downloading or an M3U sign-in lacks the xmltv.php address. A channel created for one event often has no listings at all. One ordinary channel blank among full ones usually has its schedule filed under the wrong ID, which we fix once you send its name.

Can I set a reminder or record from the KezelTV guide?

That depends on the player rather than the subscription. Some apps let you set a reminder on a future listing, and players that record, TiviMate Premium among them, can usually schedule a recording from the guide entry. A recording occupies one of your plan’s screens while it runs. If your app offers neither, a phone alarm covers a live start.

Does the KezelTV EPG refresh itself?

Yes, players reload the listings on a timer. Force an update only after fixing the clock, adding the xmltv.php address or watching a full row go blank. Recent TiviMate versions keep a manual update in the EPG settings; IPTV Smarters Pro moves its refresh between versions; in other apps, quit fully and reopen.
